Baritone Chae Il Kim
바리톤 김재일은 2004년 독일 라인스베르크 국제성악경연대회에서 도니체티 오페라 람메르무어의 ‘루치아’의 바리톤 주역인 엔리코 역으로 입상하며, 2004년 브라운슈바이크 주립오페라극장에서 유럽무대에 데뷔한 이후 바그너 연출의 대가 필립 아흘로(Philippe Arlaud)의 연출로 “니벨룽겐의 반지”의 알베리히(니벨룽 족, 황금도둑)역을 맡고 이후 그의 연출로 프로코피에프 오페라 “성당에서의 결혼식”의 주역 멘도짜 역을 맡아 섬세한 연기와 풍부한 성량으로 유럽의 관객을 감동시켰다.
한국에서는 2008년 서울시오페라단 기획 오페라 ‘라 트라비아타’의 제르몽 역으로 세종문화회관 대극장에서 데뷔하였다. 그는 독일 브란덴부르크 국립 오케스트라, 독일 바이로이트 바그너 캄머 오케스트라, KBS교향악단, 서울시립교향악단, 경기 필하모닉 오케스트라, 니르바나 필하모닉 오케스트라, 세종 필하모닉 오케스트라 등과 협연, 국내외적으로 오페라 무대에서의 활동을 활발히 이어가고 있으며, 그의 주요 레퍼토리는 피가로의 결혼, 마술피리, 람메르무어의 루치아, 비바 라 맘마, 라 트라비아타, 리골렛토, 가면무도회, 라보엠, 토스카, 투란도트, 까발레리아 루스띠까나, 니벨룽의 반지 등이 있다. 특히 2010년 독일 바이로이트 포룸 음악축제에 초대되어 바이로이트 시립극장에서 푸치니 오페라 ‘외투’와 ‘쟌니스끼끼’의 주역을 동시에 맡았던 공연은 현지에서 큰 찬사를 받았으며, 2012년 한국에서는 서울시 주최 서울대표창작오페라 ‘연서’에 기탁 역을 맡아 세종문화회관 대극장에서 세계 초연과 재공연을 함께 하였다.
또한 그는 대한민국 희망콘서트, 독일 뮌헨시 탄생 850주년 기념음악회, 오라토리오 ‘엘리아’, '미사 솔렘니스', 칸타타 ‘담마빠다’, 등 국내외 콘서트 무대에 초청받고 있으며 2013년 서울국제음악제에서 펜데레츠키의 7번교향곡, ‘7개의 성문’ 솔로로 무대로 섰으며 2015년에는 펜데레츠키의 폴란드 레퀴엠 솔로로 무대에 올랐다.
그는 충주고, 서울대학교 음악대학 성악과, 동 대학원을 졸업 뒤 도독, 독일 뒤셀도르프 로버트 슈만 음악대학을 졸업하였고, 귀국 이후 서울시립대학교 도시과학대학원 문화예술관광학과(공연행정학전공)을 졸업하였다.
Baritone Chae il Kim graduated Chungju High school, and received B.A. and M.A. in Opera, in School of Music, Seoul National University. He also got the degree from Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Dusseldorf. And also majored in Concert administration of Cultural arts and tourism, at graduated school in University of Seoul.
Kim awarded Germany Reinsberg International Opera Competition in the year of 2004 as role of Enrico from Donizetti’s Opera "Lucia di Lammermoor". And he made his debut in Europe as same role at Staatstheater Braunschweig. In Seoul, he debuted in 2008 at "La Traviata" by production of Seoul Metropolitan Opera as role of Germont at Sejong Cultural art Center. He co-worked with Brandenburg Staats Orchestra, Bayreuther Wagner Kammerorchestrer, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, Nirvana Philharmonic Orchestra, Gangnam Symphony Orchestra, Sejong Philharmonic Orchestra, Opus Chamberorchestra, Seoul Metropolitan Traditional Music Orchestra, Seongnam Traditional Music Orchestra and Ansan Traditional Music Orchestra.
He performed major roles on international and domestic opera stages. His repertoire is including roles from following operas: Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflote, Lucia di Lammermoor, Viva La Mamma, La Boheme, Tosca, Turandot, Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto, Un ballo in maschera, La Traviata, Wedding at the Catholic Church, Der Burger als Edelmann, Carmen. Cavalleria rusticana, Andrea Chenier, Der Ring des Nibelungen,
Especially in the year of 2010, he praised by audience as he performed two roles from ‘Il Tabarro’ and ‘Gianni Schicchi’ at the same stage at Bayreuth Forum. In Korea, he also participated in the historical world premiere and reruns of opera “Yeonseo” as the role of ‘Gitak’ at Sejong Cultural Arts Center.
He touted both in Korean and European press as a distinguished Opera Singer not only in aspect of operatic factors, but also in aspect of acting qualities. His acting is containing the all human emotions that he is being fluent in extensive range of expressions from the humorous expressions to intricate ones, through his voice.
His formal activities as singer is not confined in Operatic stages. He also appears in broad range of concerts internationally. For instance he performed at Hope Concert of Korea, Celebration Concert for 850th year of Munchen, Oratorio ‘Elijah’, 'Missa Solemnis', Cantata ‘Dhammapada’, House concert, Recital, and so on.
Last year at Sejong Chamber Hall, as first performance of his own project series <Baritone Chae il Kim’s Recital Series>, he performed Robert Schumann’s <Dichterliebe>. And today, he performs Schubert’s masterpiece <Winterreise> at IBK Chamber Hall, Seoul Arts Center.
